The deal, in one paragraph
alpesmotoracing.com gives you motorcycle and motorsport journalism free of charge, funded by advertising. In exchange, you use the site lawfully and reasonably, you do not strip it for republication, and you accept that news about a risk activity, published on deadline, comes with the limits described here and in our disclaimer. That is the whole bargain; the rest of this page is the detail, written to be read rather than skimmed past.
Who these terms bind
These terms apply to everyone who reads, links to, or otherwise uses alpesmotoracing.com and any feed or service we operate under the ALPESMOTORACING name. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, the remedy is simple and free: close the tab. We may update these terms as the site evolves; the version published here is the one in force, and material changes will be visible rather than buried.
Our content and what you may do with it
Everything we produce, articles, reviews, guides, photographs we took, graphics we made, and the selection and arrangement of it all, is protected by copyright and belongs to ALPESMOTORACING or its licensors. You are welcome to:
- Read, share links, quote reasonable excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original article;
- Print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use;
- Discuss, criticise and disagree with us anywhere you like, quoting what you need to make the point.
You may not, without written permission:
- Republish articles in whole or substantial part, whether on a website, an app, a newsletter or a content farm;
- Scrape the site systematically, including for training datasets, or ingest our content in bulk by any automated means;
- Use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you, your product or your race team when we have not;
- Sell access to our content or bundle it into a paid product.
Press offices and rights holders whose material we quote or embed retain their own rights; our DMCA and copyright policy covers both directions of that street.
Acceptable use
Do not attack the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without our invitation, overload it with automated requests, or attempt to interfere with the advertising that pays for it, for example by generating fraudulent impressions or clicks. Do not use the site to harass anyone, including riders and other public figures we cover; criticism of a rider’s Sunday is speech, organised abuse is not. We reserve the right to block traffic, addresses or networks that abuse the service, without notice and without owing anyone an explanation.
Reader submissions
If you send us material, a tip, a photograph, a document, a letter, you keep your copyright, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, edit, publish and archive it in connection with our journalism, in any medium. Send only what you have the right to send: a photograph you took, a document you may lawfully share. Tell us if you need confidentiality and we will honour it as described on our contact page. We are not obliged to publish, return or respond to unsolicited material, though we read all of it.
News is time-stamped, not timeless
A racing news site is a record of what was true, or credibly claimed, at the moment of publication. Results change after stewards’ hearings. Specifications change between prototype and production. Prices change by market and by month. Riders change teams after denying they would. We correct errors under our corrections policy, but we do not retro-edit years of archive every time the world moves on, and an old article is not a warranty that its contents are still true. Check the date before you rely on anything.
No warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard on accuracy, our fact-checking policy describes how hard, but we cannot and do not warrant that the site is error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Nothing on this site is professional advice: not riding instruction, not mechanical advice, not legal, medical or financial advice. A review is an informed opinion, a guide is general information, and neither replaces training, a workshop manual, or your own judgement about your own machine and skills.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ALPESMOTORACING and its editors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including decisions about riding, purchases, modifications or anything else you do with what you read here. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, and nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer where such rights apply.
Third-party sites and advertisers
We link out constantly: official series sites, manufacturer pages, retailers, source documents. Links are provided for your convenience and are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for third-party content, availability or privacy practices. Advertisers and affiliate retailers are separate businesses; your dealings with them, including purchases made through affiliate links, are between you and them under their terms. Our commercial relationships are disclosed on the ownership and funding page.
Indemnity
If you use the site in breach of these terms and that breach causes a claim against us, for example by republishing our content commercially or submitting material you had no right to submit, you agree to compensate us for the losses and costs that your breach causes. This clause is aimed at genuine misuse, not at readers quoting a paragraph.
Severability and waiver
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands. If we do not enforce a clause on one occasion, that is patience, not a waiver; we may enforce it later.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from the site, are governed by the laws applicable where the operator is established, and disputes belong to the courts competent under those laws, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live and cannot be contracted away. We would rather resolve any problem by email first: support@alpesmotoracing.com.
